This coffee is celebrated for its bright acidity, medium body, and rich, complex flavours. The high-altitude growing conditions and meticulous processing methods contribute to its distinctive taste. This coffee is a favourite among coffee enthusiasts who appreciate its balance of acidity and sweetness, as well as its clean, crisp finish.
Costa Rica El Conquistador coffee is primarily grown in the Tarrazú region, one of the most famous coffee-growing areas in Costa Rica. This region is known for its high altitudes, ranging from 1,200 to 1,900 meters above sea level, which provide ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. The climate in Tarrazú is characterized by a distinct wet and dry season, with rich volcanic soil that contributes to the coffee’s unique flavour profile.
Many coffee farms in Costa Rica use shade-grown methods, where coffee plants are grown under a canopy of trees. This practice not only protects the coffee plants from direct sunlight but also promotes biodiversity and helps maintain soil health.
